Eric McElhaney

Eric has been a police officer since 1993 and a firearms instructor since 1998. He has over 10,000 hours of instructing of police and civilians. He has taught a variety of things including: pistol, shotgun, carbine, physical tactics, ground fighting, and defensive knife training, as well as being a S.T.O.P.S instructor. He is a primary and psychomotor skill instructor for ILEA.

He has taken additional classes from Pat Rogers, Louise Awerbuck, Dave Spaulding, Tom Givens, Startegos, and Gunsite. He also has his Force Science Certification.

He has been on the SWAT Team for his department since 2001. Eric was also a K9 officer for 8 years and was a Detective for 4 years. 

Eric is also an adjunct instructor at Ivy Tech's Criminology Department. He has his Bachelor's degree in Criminology from ISU.
